Absolutely love this tutorial. I'm currently working on joining as a volunteer fireman and videos like this are definitely a huge help.
Excellent video, every fighter should watch this video and train same way to familiarize with the water pressure in your district. Deserves one million views.
Why RPM mode?
This is a great video to review my FFT2/FFT1 to be honest this is better explained then the VFD did for me in Texas. I'm now in California finishing my Wildland Fire and Fire Tec degree by 2025 . California wants me to go through one of their FFT2/FFT1 to get me back out on fires.
Suspender make and model you wear?
Probably the best, most complete & comprehensive search video out here, outstanding work AFD.
Great techniques, especially for skills on your F1&2 practical test. Fire ground ops, you’ll just throw that ladder up any way possible 🤣
I need to start doing yoga
Great job! Hooah.
Ladder on the wall is crazy lol….
You should not be putting some of this information online. As an elevator mechanic you are seriously jeopardizing people’s safety by doing it. Teaching people how to unlock our doors is not ok
Great training video guys! 🚒👩🚒👨🚒
Might have missed something…. Pre-connect attack lines? ?
Awesome video. One thing I'd change is to drop the music, it's distracting. But again, great content, thanks for sharing and making this.
Great video! Thank you!
looked like a good video until the shit music started okaying. stopped the video & noise...move on....wasted a good video.......
Excellent Tutorial!! Thanks for sharing!!
Excellent Tutorial!! Thanks for sharing!!
Obstacle makes perfect sense, LEO vehicle lol 😂
As a proby, I really love the explanation and demonstrations. Thank you!🚒🔥🧯
I have a question? once you bump up what happens to the front door once you go to next choke point
Had to go on my oldest account for this, my father loves this channel. Please keep posting
not many people cant due to felony restrictions and thats the main issue im one of those people so I feel the pain of not living the dream
you can hold the air primer indefinitely. mechanical primer has a 45 second limit.
Great soundtrack!
Lt. Shannon, have you done any work pulling from a portable tank with 1 vs. 2 5" rigid suction lines to see flow rates?
FYI: oriented as in to be familiar with NOT orientated. A common grammatical mistake.
GPM and pressure appear inadequate.
Does anyone know what the red strap they are using throughout this training is called or where I can find it?
Ice Rescue Sling. Currently $52 on the DRI website.
What kind of helmet and what kind of bend do you have on that helmet?
Thanks guys! Awesome review 😊
Kudos on a bad ass training video!
What’s the reasoning you connect high vol to hydrant to intake one of truck, to then connect a discharge from that truck to the other trucks intake? Why not just connect hydrant directly to the intake of truck doing fire attack instead of connecting through another truck? Thanks!
Or is it just a quicker option to reverse lay with 2nd on scene from the truck then to hand bomb the high vol from the first truck on scene?
Overcoming friction loss for the long lay, also provides a backup source of water if hydrant fails the pumper can send his tank water up to the attack truck
Do
Very informative! Thank you!

Good stuff, simple but effective. Is that a shield from Red House Shields on your helmet?
Anyone know how to calculate nozzle reaction??????????????????????????????????????
Sweet! Those aren't side cutters though. Those are diagonal cutters - aka "dikes"
Appreciate it. I have to learn how to do all this for my job next is getting over the fear of heights or more like falling 😂
So an LAFD heavy taskforce with 2 pumpers and a ladder tower would be dropping the second engine off at the hydrant, with the first in engine forward laying behind the truck. The hydrant would immediately set up as flow through, while setting for big water. 2 engine crew from the relay pumper would be hitching a ride on the ladder or 1st in pumper to help with a second stream or whatever else was needed. The ladder truck could then focus on getting a vent crew on the roof in synch with the first in engine making entry on tank water. The 2 extra fighters from the relay pumper then plug in the hydrant lay so the tank is barely touched. They and the tower engineer then set up a main stream, or pull a second, supporting line. Logistics wins. Once the roof is vented there are 4-6 people that can start covering exposures, softening the building, etc. The next "light" or heavy company in can cover RIT and exposures as needed..... Slick as snot..... The arriving Battalion Commander has a base of fire up and can decide from there where to go.
Please enlighten us with the retreat methods.
Thanks.
Great video. Lots of options here.
what does "easy breathing" mean?
Basically when you are in a situation that requires help, the best thing you can do is "easy breathing" meaning to focus on slowing your breathing and conserve your bottle.
🙌🏽🙏🏽🙌🏽
Thanks legends 👌
Amazing tips, as a ladder company guy i am surprised we don't really nail this in training.
You need to drill the UAC and buddy breathing in complete black out conditions, When those connections first came out 20+ years ago we drilled on them most COULD NOT! make them in a blacked out condition. Takes a lot of practice.
Good stuff Brothers!
